MotorSport Vision (MSV) has completed the first phase of its programme of improvements at Circuito de Navarra in northern Spain. The venue joined MSV’s extensive portfolio of motor racing circuits in November last year, and recent visitors have been highly impressed by the progress already made.

The circuit has hosted a range of track days, private tests and motorsport events on two and four wheels in recent months, including the NAPA Racing Weekend in June, overseen by the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation (RFEdA) – the highest profile race event so far under MSV’s stewardship.

On a weekend headlined by the Spanish F4 Championship, with additional action from TCR Spain and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, those onsite were amongst the first to benefit from the changes already made.

Among the most notable improvements is a complete overhaul of the race control complex. This includes new screens and upgraded CCTV technology, along with a complete exterior redecoration of the race control tower and main pit buildings, including all the garage doors. This means that the venue’s most prominent structures now look more vibrant than ever.

This exterior aesthetic overhaul has extended beyond that area too, elevating the FIA Grade 1T and Grade 2 circuit’s presentation to match its status as one of Spain’s best motorsport venues.

Following the lead from the high standards set at MSV’s five UK circuits, all signage has been revamped across the venue including the start/finish line gantry, pit buildings, and throughout the paddock and spectator areas. The 360 degree VIP hospitality rooms above race control have also been renovated.

In addition to the main track, Circuito de Navarra is home to one of the most impressive outdoor kart circuits in the region. Like the rest of the venue, this has been treated to an extensive refurbishment.

Another key improvement has been a complete repair of the venue’s on-site irrigation reservoir. Results here have been immediate, with wildlife even returning to the man-made lake.

Progress is also being made in a number of key operational areas, to improve safety, communication and overall venue efficiency. New headsets for example have been acquired for all personnel working trackside as marshals.

Major upgrades have also been made to the Paddock Bar in the main pits building, which has been completely refurbished and refurnished. The Paddock Bar, which offers an impressive range of drinks, snacks, hot meals and a permanent salad bar, will now be open whenever any form of activity is taking place at the circuit.

MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer said: “Circuito de Navarra is a fantastic circuit, but it needed to be freshened up in a number of areas, and we’ve been working hard to address those since the winter months. We’ve invested more than € 500,000 in our initial phase of improvements and modifications, and I’m delighted to say the venue looks sharper than ever! Every visitor will notice a positive difference when they arrive, with the most significant change being our newly upgraded Paddock Bar, which will be open whenever we have visitors on site. We’ve also strengthened the team at Circuito de Navarra in recent months, and have purchased a number of new operational vehicles.

“MSV has very ambitious plans for our next phase of works, which will enable the circuit to unlock its full potential. More information will be shared in the coming months.
