MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) hosted the first ever race event on the fully updated Circuito de Navarra track layout this weekend. Series in action at the MSVR Autumn Festival included the MSVT Trackday Championship, MSVT Trackday Trophy and the Modified Ford Series as well as the Spain based Copa Racer class.

The first competitive race on the revised version of the circuit in northern Spain was contested by the MSVT Trackday Championship, which brought a grid of race-prepared saloons over for the occasion. And victory in the historic opening race went to Motion Motorsport with its Honda Civic Type R driving home just under 20 seconds clear of its nearest rival, the Volkswagen Golf of Team Air Supply.

The MSVT Trackday Trophy also raced on the Saturday of the event, with a tin top grid of its own. Paddock Performance Racing dominated proceedings with its BMW 328i, almost 45 seconds clear of closest competitors PRO-AM Racing with its Renault Clio. The outright podium was completed by Team Air Supply, with the outfit running well in both its races.

Another class from the UK which joined the Autumn Festival programme was the Modified Ford Series, which featured a strong contingent of track tuned machines from the popular manufacturer. Dave Cockell enjoyed a positive outing at the wheel of his Ford Escort Cosworth, winning in each of the first two races, with Piers Grange emerging as the victor in the final of three contests.

The Spanish Copa Racer series completed the weekend’s programme, with three races across the two days. Bejarano Motorsport enjoyed outright victory in the opening race, the first for a Spanish championship or series on the new layout, with E2P Racing claiming the honours in the second race. E2P followed up their victory in race two with another in the final race of the weekend.

Circuito de Navarra will host several race events on its new layout with the next of these being the Navarra Historic Festival on 20 October.
