Major works on the second phase of the Circuito de Navarra redevelopment are nearing completion, with the final layer of asphalt having been successfully laid on the circuit’s extension.
Work has been ongoing on the all-new 650-metre section across the summer by Asfaltia, alongside primary construction contractor Obras Especiales, with oversight from engineering consultants EPTISA.
These latest aerial images show the shape of the new circuit configuration, from the pre-existing Turn 10 up to the new banked hairpin at Turn 11. This is followed by downhill sweeps through Turns 12, 13 and 14 before re-joining the original layout at Turn 15 (the old Turn 13).
With the asphalting process now at an end, focus turns to completing the Armco barrier installation and run-off areas, ahead of the circuit’s reopening for a private event on Monday 9 September.
