Glenn Irwin and the Hager PBM Ducati team ended the opening R&G Official Test of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship fastest, leading McAMS Racing Yamaha’s Danny Kent and Honda Racing UK’s Tommy Bridewell ahead of the next test at Donington Park (April 18/19).

Irwin, Kent and Bridewell all had spells at the top of the times during the four sessions, but on the final of the two days on track in Spain, the Hager PBM Ducati rider set the benchmark lap time that would remain fastest for the remainder of the last day.

McAMS Racing Yamaha’s Kent opted to sit out the afternoon session, with his best time coming in the final morning session, which was enough to keep him 0.202s ahead of Bridewell who had set his fastest lap of the test in the closing stages of the day before a crash at turn three. However, he was able to re-join and return to pitlane.

John McPhee impressed on his debut with the MasterMac Honda team; the Scottish contender setting the fourth fastest time on overall combined times, putting him 0.105s ahead of Leon Haslam on his return to Ducati the Moto Rapido Ducati Racing team.

Andrew Irwin was sixth, but the Honda Racing UK only had a 0.004s edge over Charlie Nesbitt on the second MasterMac Honda, whilst Rory Skinner completed the top eight on his Ducati debut with Cheshire Mouldings Ducati.

Josh Brookes was the fastest of the DAO Racing Honda contenders in ninth place overall, the double champion also setting his best lap in the final afternoon of the test to put him ahead of Fraser Rogers, who ended the crash prematurely due to a crash but will return at Donington Park.
